The Civil War started in 1860 because President Abraham Lincoln of the Union
declared war on the Confederacy.
The Union was the anti-slavery states in northern America during this time
while the Confederacy was the slavery states in southern America.
After five years of rigorous fighting, the Union ended up victorious.
This war resulted in 365,000 fatalities for the Union, and 260,000 for the Confederacy. But there were even more casualties...
